AFTIG?s mission is two-fold. As Afghani citizens, we want to see our
country thrive once more. Yet, we also hope to help young companies navigate
development of a clearly defined strategy and business focus.
Afghanistan has been in a state of political and economic turmoil since the
early 1980?s. Foreign invasion, communism, and political and religious
unrest are all part of the nation?s past. While the country is moving
forward and while major positive changes have taken place in this century,
there is still a long way to go. More than half of the population still
falls below the poverty line, according to US AID, and the life expectancy
is still below age 50.
Yet, at this crucial point in its history, Afghanistan is still simply
rebuilding?in some areas, from the ground up. The country cannot hope to
flourish again without a strengthened infrastructure?and AFTIG has the
expertise and resources to provide the country with a strong funding
foundation. Secure funding from entrepreneurial investors will allow the
country to become a viable economic force, with the resources necessary to
support growing businesses, new technology, and a better education system.
